Essen (dpa / lnw) – In the coming days it will be cold and occasionally smooth in North Rhine-Westphalia. On Wednesday, in addition to light permafrost and smoothness in the Eifel area, the sun can be seen in some areas, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced in Essen. But with highs between minus two and plus one degree, it’s still wintry. Frost is also possible at night.

Thursday starts clear to cloudy and mostly dry. The temperatures are between zero and two degrees. In the night to Friday it can occasionally be slippery.

On Friday there may be some snow in the mountains, but otherwise it will remain dry with temperatures around freezing. During the night it cools down to minus ten degrees in places and it becomes locally smooth.
