Essen (dpa / lnw) – December begins in North Rhine-Westphalia with clouds, rain and light snowfall. On Thursday it is mostly overcast with light drizzle, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced in Essen in the morning. The temperatures reach up to three degrees Celsius in East Westphalia and seven degrees on the Rhine. From the afternoon onwards, the rain is expected to subside before new precipitation sets in on Friday night. According to the DWD forecast, light snow is also possible from the Rothaargebirge to the Weserbergland. For the mountains and East Westphalia, the weather service warns of slippery roads due to fresh snow or freezing wet.

The DWD meteorologists expect maximum values ??of between two and four degrees for Friday. Permafrost with values ??between two and minus three degrees is expected for the higher mountains. It is mostly overcast, with rain moving in from the east during the day. Light snowfall is still possible at higher altitudes and will last into the night.

According to the DWD forecast, Saturday will be mostly cloudy and dry. The temperatures reach a maximum of four degrees.
