Düsseldorf (dpa/lnw) – The seven-day incidence of corona infections in North Rhine-Westphalia fell to 773.0 in North Rhine-Westphalia on Friday. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week was 782.4 on Thursday. A month ago, the seven-day incidence in the most populous state was around 221. Nationwide, the RKI registered a value of 682.7 on Friday.
For NRW, the RKI reported 25,121 new Covid 19 cases in NRW on Friday. Another ten deaths related to Corona were added. The highest incidences in NRW were reported from the Coesfeld district (1426.3) and from the Borken district (1313.0), the lowest in the Rhein-Sieg district (400.1).
However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases that have not been recorded by the RKI – mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
