Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – SPD parliamentary group leader Thomas Kutschaty has called for a support package for pensioners in view of the current inflation. Half of all pensioners receive less than 1,000 euros a month, women on average only 740 euros, according to Kutschaty: “Too many are now in need. We have to help them,” said the SPD politician to the “Rheinische Post”.

At the same time, one must do more for families, said Kuchaty: “The federal government made the start with the energy money and the child supplement. The federal states must now follow suit.” Specifically, the Social Democrat proposed paying 100 euros for each child and offering local public transport free of charge for all children and young people.
