Berlin (dpa / lnw) – Marc Lettau, previously assistant to Union Berlin’s managing director professional football Oliver Ruhnert, will become technical director at VfL Bochum. The 37-year-old will take over the job on January 1, 2023, as the Bundesliga soccer club from the Ruhr area announced on Tuesday.
“Marc Lettau has been able to contribute to the highly successful history of Union Berlin through his work in recent years,” Bochum’s sporting director Patrick Fabian quoted in a club statement. “In previous encounters we have found time and again that we have the same high standards and goals in terms of strategy, structure and professionalism.”
Lettau worked at Union for four and a half years. He knew Ruhnert from his time at FC Schalke 04 and followed him to Berlin in 2018. As assistant to the managing director of professional football, he was responsible for the administrative management of the licensed players department.
