Plettenberg (dpa / lnw) – A motorcyclist collided with a car on the federal highway 236 near Plettenberg (Märkischer Kreis) and was fatally injured. The 57-year-old wanted to overtake a car on Sunday morning in a right-hand bend between Plettenberg-Pasel and Finnentrop-Rönkhausen (Olpe district), said a police spokesman. In doing so, he ran into oncoming traffic. An oncoming motorist could no longer avoid it.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his machine and died at the scene of the accident, the spokesman said. The 26-year-old driver and his two passengers, a 28-year-old and a 26-year-old, were taken to the hospital with shock. The B236 was completely closed for the accident investigation.
