Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – The North Rhine-Westphalian state government ordered mourning flags to be displayed on the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The flags on public buildings will be set at half-mast on Friday, the NRW Ministry of the Interior announced.
The order applies to all official buildings in the state, the municipalities and municipal associations as well as other corporations, institutions and foundations under public law that are subject to state supervision.
A condolence book should be laid out in the state parliament in which citizens can express their grief. The British Queen died on Thursday at the age of 96 at her country estate, Castle Balmoral in Scotland, the palace announced.
