Düsseldorf (dpa/lnw) – In August, the North Rhine-Westphalian economy exported goods with a significantly higher value than a year ago and before the Corona crisis. In August 2022, the value was 19.7 billion euros, as announced by the State Statistical Office IT.NRW on Friday. That is around 24 percent more than in August 2021 and almost 26 percent more than in August 2019.
Goods worth 27.8 billion euros were imported in August 2022. Here, too, there was a significant increase of more than 30 percent compared to the same month last year. According to the statistics office, the imports also include deliveries to NRW, which are stored here and then transported to other federal states.
