Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – The NRW Ministry of Transport wants to accept the fine of 10,000 euros imposed by the Düsseldorf Administrative Court and release previously blocked information to aircraft noise opponents. This emerges from a letter from the ministry, which is available to the German Press Agency.

In addition, the ministry also wants to release the documents that it had not previously released, stating that they were business secrets from Düsseldorf Airport.

“After four court decisions against the Ministry of Transport and for the right to information, we hope that a legal dispute that has been going on for more than six years will now come to an end,” said the chairman of the association “Kaarster against aircraft noise”, Werner Kindsmüller, on Monday.

“It is very unfortunate that the ministry has tried by all means to withhold information about violations of the night’s sleep from residents near the airport,” said Kindsmüller. “It took the imposition of a fine to get the ministry to implement court decisions. This is a disturbing process in a constitutional state.”
