Essen (dpa / lnw) – While the federal and state governments continue to struggle for a successor regulation for the successful 9-euro ticket, the local transport associations in North Rhine-Westphalia are extending their special campaign for subscribers until the end of the year. As in September and October, long-term passengers can use their tickets throughout NRW at certain times without a surcharge until December 31st. This was announced by the transport associations Rhein-Ruhr (VRR) and Rhein-Sieg (VRS), the Zweckverband Nahverkehr Westfalen-Lippe (NWL) and Westfalen-Tarif on Wednesday.
If you have a subscription ticket, you can travel nationwide on buses, trains and local trains in November and December during the relevant campaign periods at no additional cost. According to the information, the campaign also applies to new customers who are now taking out a subscription.
The promotional period includes all weekends (5/6 November, 12/13 November, 19/20 November, 26/27 November, 3/4 December, 10/11 December, 17 /December 18, December 24/25, December 31) as well as the holiday of All Saints (November 1), Christmas Day (December 26) and the NRW Christmas holidays beginning on December 23 until December 31 .
As was the case recently, the carriage regulations have also been adjusted: two people (adults or children) and up to three children (6 to 14 years old inclusive) or two people and up to two bicycles can travel with you per ticket, including the ticket holder. Time restrictions, such as 9:00 a.m. subscriptions, will be lifted during the promotional period.
