Mönchengladbach (dpa / lnw) – An 82-year-old passenger died in Mönchengladbach when a car crashed into a tree. At the wheel of the accident vehicle was his 71-year-old wife, who wanted to turn and first collided with another car, the police said on Tuesday. The 55-year-old occupant of that car was unharmed. The car with the two seniors skidded after the collision and crashed into the tree on the side of the road. The car rolled onto the driver’s side. The 82-year-old was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and died there a little later. As a precaution, his wife was taken to the hospital and received pastoral care.
