Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – The Düsseldorf police seized drugs “in no small amount” and several thousand euros in cash during a restaurant inspection and apartment search. A 52-year-old man was also arrested on Friday night’s raid on suspicion of illegal gambling and drug trafficking, police said on Sunday.

Officers from an investigative team searched a restaurant in the Pempelfort district, which had previously been the focus of illegal gambling and violations of the Narcotics Act. According to the information, the investigators caught the 52-year-old and a 70-year-old gambling illegally. During a search of the two men, cash and drugs were seized from the 52-year-old.

A search warrant was then obtained for the young man’s home. According to the report, the officers found large quantities of drugs there, including hashish or marijuana and synthetic drugs. The 52-year-old was arrested.
