Even on Halloween, the police don’t take a joke on some things. Anyone who takes a real-looking gun with their costume is liable to prosecution. The Minister of the Interior has no problem with a plastic axe.
Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – North Rhine-Westphalia’s Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU) warns against going on Halloween (October 31) with firearms that look real. Then don’t be surprised if you get in trouble with the police.
“As is well known, you can’t argue about taste – not even on Halloween. And so there’s certainly nothing wrong with scary masks, plastic axes and rubber daggers,” said Reul of the German Press Agency. “But if you think you have to set off with firearms that look deceptively real, you shouldn’t be surprised about police checks and a report,” the minister continued. Because: The weapons law prohibits the taking of so-called “apparent weapons”.
Reul’s advice: “Have fun, be scary, but respect the law.”
