Oberhausen (dpa / lnw) – Two men are said to have fired shots from a car in Oberhausen on Thursday evening. The car with Dortmund license plates and two male occupants aged 24 and 61 were found by the alarmed emergency services on site, the police said on Friday. In addition, a large number of shell casings, which were probably fired from a blank or signal weapon, were found on the street.

When searching the vehicle, officers found several packages of blank cartridges. A firearm could not be found either in the car or with the occupants – guests of a wedding celebration in the immediate vicinity – it was said. The suspects could not have explained how the ammunition got into their vehicle. The criminal police have started an investigation.
