Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – In North Rhine-Westphalia, significantly fewer training contracts were concluded in 2021 than ten years ago. The number fell between 2012 and 2021 by a good 15 percent from around 204,000 to a good 179,000, as the State Statistical Office IT.NRW announced on Tuesday.
There were declines in industry and commerce (minus 21.6 percent) and in crafts (minus 11 percent). In domestic occupations, the number of apprenticeship contracts fell by almost half (47.2 percent) during the period. In contrast, the public sector (up 18.1 percent), agriculture (up 5.1 percent) and the liberal professions (up 9.4 percent) reported more new contracts.
