Hagen (dpa / lnw) – A six-year-old girl ran onto the street in Hagen at a red pedestrian traffic light and was hit by a car. A tire rolled over her foot and she was hit in the head by an outside mirror, the police said on Sunday. As several witnesses reported, the girl had been playing with other children in a playground on Saturday afternoon. Suddenly the group ran to the pedestrian crossing. While the other children stayed there, the six-year-old continued to run onto the road.

The 23-year-old driver was unable to stop in time. He was in shock after the collision. The police said the child was treated as an outpatient in hospital with a broken foot and multiple bruises.
