Bedburg-Hau (dpa / lnw) – A week after escaping from a specialist clinic in Bedburg-Hau, a 39-year-old man was arrested in Cologne. Special forces had arrested the wanted man in a hotel, the police in the Kleve district said on Tuesday. The police found him through a 44-year-old woman from Duisburg who occasionally had contact with the man.

When she visited the fugitive in Cologne, the police took action. The man was arrested without resistance, as was the woman. She is said to have helped him escape. The 39-year-old was taken to a correctional facility. The woman was released. He had been housed closed in the Ruhr area since 2019 because of several robberies.
