The Düsseldorf state parliament is being completely renovated. After 34 years, numerous conversions are necessary. This also applies to the office that the Prime Minister has in Parliament.

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – Major renovations in the Düsseldorf state parliament also have an impact on the office of Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst (CDU) in parliament. The head of government has to move, as a state parliament spokesman confirmed on request.

Wüst has an office in the state parliament, which, according to the State Chancellery, he uses regularly, especially on plenary sessions. It is located in an area where renovation works will start during the autumn holidays. A new elevator with space for 40 people is being built there. Groups and wheelchair users should have further access to the grandstand of the plenary hall. In addition, the accessibility in the 34-year-old building should be improved, according to the state parliament.

Neighboring offices on all floors have to be cleared for the conversion – including Wüst’s premises. According to the state parliament, an area of ??the same size will be made available to him elsewhere in the building. Whether and when Wüst can move back to his old office will be decided when everything is finished. This could drag on in many areas due to the current delivery difficulties. According to the state parliament, there is not yet a specific date for the end of the work.
