Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – A good three months after the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia, the SPD has continued to slip in favor with voters. According to the current Sunday trend of the opinion research institute Insa on behalf of the “Bild” newspaper (Friday), the Social Democrats would only get 22 percent in a state election – 4.7 percentage points less than in the state election on May 15th.

The CDU therefore comes to 36 percent, after 35.7 percent in the state election. The Greens increase by three percentage points to 21 percent, after 18.2 percent in the NRW election. The FDP is slightly stronger again at seven percent, the AfD would have to worry about getting back into parliament at five percent.

The left is seen at three percent, other parties account for six percent. The current black-green coalition would thus have a combined 57 percent and an even larger majority.

Insa boss Hermann Binkert explained: “The CDU remains by far the strongest force and can choose its coalition partner. The Greens are hot on the heels of the SPD.” For the survey, 1000 people were interviewed online between August 15th and 22nd.
