Neuss/Dormagen (dpa/lnw) – Four teenagers between the ages of 15 and 16 gave themselves a chase with the police in Neuss. Initially, officials wanted to check the young people’s vehicle in the city center on Tuesday night, as a police spokesman said in the morning. The car then fled through the city to the junction on the federal highway 57 in the direction of Cologne and drove to Dormagen (Rhein-Kreis Neuss). In the Nievenheim district, the car left an asphalt service road and came to a standstill through an earth wall. The inmates tried to flee on foot, but the police were able to arrest them and take them to the station. They were picked up from there by their legal guardians. The extent of the damage to the rental vehicle concerned was initially unknown.
