Half of the summer holidays are over in NRW. As part of the nationwide traffic controls on Saturday, Interior Minister Reul gets an impression of the situation on the motorways and visits a checkpoint at a rest area.
Ratingen (dpa / lnw) – The traffic on the motorways in North Rhine-Westphalia should be particularly heavy this weekend. Because it’s halfway through the summer holidays and changing beds in many vacation spots. Many travelers return, others set off for the holiday destinations by car. The police take this as an opportunity for nationwide traffic controls on Saturday.
NRW Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU) wants to get a personal impression and visits a control point on Autobahn 3 near Ratingen (Mettmann district) at the Hösel service area in the morning. The police and fire brigade have also set up information stands for travelers there, the Ministry of the Interior announced.
