Cologne (dpa / lnw) – Unknown persons stole donations from a sacrificial box in the church of St. Gereon in the center of Cologne in front of the sexton. According to a police report, two men fished money out of the offering box using a metal stick prepared with adhesive tape. When they were caught by the 50-year-old sexton, one of the two strangers reportedly pushed the churchman aside. The two thieves managed to escape.
The police are now looking for the two men who, according to the statements on the show, have an unkempt appearance. “Der Schubser” is said to have a “conspicuous cut” on his hand.
