Dortmund (dpa / lnw) – A man was caught in a drugstore in Dortmund’s main train station on Friday with a theft with a total value of nine euros and was immediately sent to custody. According to a statement by the federal police on Sunday in January 2022, the 46-year-old was sentenced to two years and six months in prison by the Dortmund District Court for burglary. However, the man had evaded enforcement, which is why the public prosecutor’s office had put him out for investigation.
A shop detective caught the thief in the station hall after the crime on Friday. The police, who were called, determined the identity of the man via the health insurance card and found out immediately that there was an arrest warrant. On the way to the police station, the man reportedly fell out of his trouser pocket with a previously stolen ice cream. In addition, the federal police officers found prescription drugs during the search, for which the man could not provide proof.
The man now not only has to be imprisoned in a prison, but also has to answer for theft and violation of the drug law.
