Essen (dpa / lnw) – The fourth Sunday in Advent began in North Rhine-Westphalia with frost down to minus 13 degrees and local sunshine. It will be very cloudy on Monday. It is expected to rain across the country. At the same time, the temperatures rose significantly over the course of the day, the German Weather Service (DWD) predicted.
In the night to Monday and at the beginning of the day, there is a risk of significant formation of ice due to freezing rain, especially in the east of NRW and in the mountains. Later, the temperatures are expected to rise to 7 to 11 degrees and also be well above the frost line at around 4 degrees at high altitudes. According to the DWD, the temperatures will remain well above zero in the following days.
