Soest (dpa / lnw) – Two young men attacked and injured the train attendant of the regional train RB59 in Soest. The 43-year-old wanted to check the tickets of the two. However, they could not have shown any valid tickets, the federal police said on Sunday. They then escaped on the train. The inspector followed them when one of the young men suddenly turned and hit the man in the face with his fist and elbow and headbutted him, it said. The other man also became violent. Travelers stepped in and helped the railway employee. When stopping in Dortmund-Hörde, one of the perpetrators managed to escape. The other, a 19-year-old, was arrested.
