Cologne (dpa / lnw) – While fleeing the police, a driver in Cologne hit a pedestrian on Monday evening. The 21-year-old woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries. The driver managed to escape. According to police information from Tuesday, a patrol team tried to stop the driver because of his rapid driving in the Nippes district.
Instead of stopping, however, the young man accelerated and turned into a street in the opposite direction of travel. His car hit the young woman crossing the street and took her about 80 meters on the hood. Then she fell into the street. At an intersection, the car finally collided with a bollard and stopped. The three inmates, aged between 16 and 20, fled on foot. The license plates of the car turned out to be stolen.
