The Democratic incumbent is currently assaulting Alek Skarlatos
A veteran who helped prevent a terrorist assault on a Paris-bound train in 2015 is operating for Congress at Oregon after dropping in 2020, but this time he states redistricting can help him conquer Rep. Peter DeFazio.
“I’m running for Congress at 2022 contrary to Congressman Peter DeFazio,” Skarlatos declared on”Fox & Friends Weekend.” “We are incredibly excited. Oregon is among the six countries that’s getting a congressional district, although Oregon is a deep blue state, that’s going to make it nearly impossible for them to maintain Peter DeFazio in workplace when the lines go.”
“We do not understand the mathematics very yet, but pretty much any direction that my district will proceed will go much more Republican,” he explained.
DeFazio garnered roughly 52 percent of the vote in 2020, while Skarlatos got 46 percent.
“We are going to be eager to return the House at 2022,” Skarlatos explained.
DeFazio is currently attacking Skarlatos.
“My Trumpian competition from 2020, Alek Skarlatos, only filed to run this cycle,” DeFazio wrote on Facebook. “I am on peak of the NRCC’s 2022 goal list and final election that they dropped countless race to attempt and defeat me.
DeFazio also accused Skarlatos of becoming a”professional union buster” along with also a coronavirus skeptic.
Skarlatos played in the 2018 Clint Eastwood movie”The 15:17 into Paris,” which depicted the attempted assault on a train from Amsterdam to Paris.
The trio was one of a small number of individuals who helped handle and subdue the assailant, whose assault rifle had jammed. The three Americans were granted French citizenship this past year through a special naturalization service in Sacramento.
President Barack Obama at 2015 honored Stone having an Airman’s Medal and Purple Heart, while Skarlatos — that had been a part of the Oregon National Guard — obtained the U.S. Army’s Soldier’s Medal. Skarlatos ran to get a local county commission chair in 2018.
