Two foreigners, an American and a British national, are set to be deported from the Philippines for being deemed undesirable aliens due to their involvement in sex offenses, as reported by the Philippine News Agency. Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) revealed that Joseph John Graham, 76, and Ryan Ashley, 50, were apprehended in separate operations conducted by BI operatives in Pampanga and Taguig.
Graham was taken into custody at Clark International Airport in Angeles City after an arrest warrant was issued for him by the 19th judicial court of Indian River County, Florida. He faces charges related to 55 counts of child pornography. Shockingly, investigations uncovered disturbing evidence on Graham’s mobile phone, including nude images of Filipino children as young as 3 years old. Despite the deportation charge with the BI, Graham will be held by the National Bureau of Investigation for potential additional charges.
On the other hand, Ashley was detained by BI personnel at the SM Aura office in Taguig while trying to extend his tourist visa. He has a criminal record in the United Kingdom dating back to 1994 and 2002, where he was convicted of various sexual offenses, including indecent assault on minors. Both individuals were apprehended as part of the BI’s #Shieldkids campaign, which aims to expel child sex offenders and sex tourists from the country.
