Police said that a man attacked a woman from behind at a New York City subway Station. He beat her with a hammer.

Authorities said that the woman, which the police didn’t identify, was at Queens Plaza subway station at 11:20 p.m. When a man approached her and kicked her down, she fell.

 

Police said that the suspect then used a hammer to strike the victim repeatedly on the head, before taking her purse.” “The suspect fled the scene by foot, heading southbound on Queens Plaza South.”

Authorities said that the woman, aged 57, had suffered a fractured skull as well as lacerations to her head. In critical condition, she was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital.
