The acting President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, attended this Friday, accompanying his wife, Begoña Gómez, the designer Hannibal Laguna’s fashion show where he contemplated the new collection in the front row, after speaking at the Resilient EU2030 forum organized by the CEOE employer association.
Sánchez, as on his previous visit, has heard cries of “Get out!” and some booing from some attendees at the beginning and end of the parade.
This is the second time that Sánchez has attended a show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid – in February he attended the presentation of Teresa Helbig’s collection – a gesture that the creators consider to be supportive of Spanish fashion.
During the parade, the president shared a lively chat with his wife and the designer’s mother, Carmen, who commented on the designs that were being paraded at all times, proposals that he applauded once they were finished.
The president, who avoided making statements both at the entrance and at the exit, toured Cibelespacio upon arrival, the area before the catwalk, where there are stands from different brands and the “showroom” for young creators, and then he has directed to the space where models and designers finalize the details before the show.
Subsequently, accompanied by the Government spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez and the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Héctor Gómez, he held a conversation with the director of Ifema, Juan Arrizabalaga and the business director, Arancha Priede.
