Bundle up. That light cold wind might wake you up even more.
Snow began falling Friday morning in the Coast Range and other areas of the region, but the flakes shouldn’t linger long as temperatures stay above freezing, according to the National Weather Service in Portland’s 5 a.m. forecast. The only sunny day for days will be Saturday.
Light snow is moving into the metro area. Folks may see a little accumulation in grassy areas, especially places above 1,000 feet, but forecasters don’t anticipate the snow sticking to the roads.

High temperatures in Portland should reach 42 degrees during a cloudy day with winds topping at 8 mph. The chance of snow or rain is 70 percent. Temperatures drop to 30 degrees overnight.
An upper level low is producing the rainy and snowy precipitation with snow levels possibly down to the sea floor and valley levels. Those showers will decrease into the evening as the high-pressure system Bahis Siteleri moves over the area, forecasters say.
On Saturday – which may be the only dry Sunny day until Wednesday – temperatures will continue to be chilly. There may be some patchy fog in the morning. By afternoon, temperatures should top at 46 degrees.
The next storm system arrives from the north with a new round of rain and snow Saturday night into the following.
“Moist onshore flow will maintain showers Sunday night through at least Wednesday,” forecasters say.
