Plenty of rain for the first commute of March. Expect wet streets, but no freezing as temperatures remain well above 32 degrees even in western Washington and Yamhill counties.

I-5 AT AURORA 6:40 a.m.; A crash in the right northbound emergency lane is not blocking any traffic, but the backup is nearly four miles long stretching almost to Woodburn.

Levee Ready Columbia is conducting evaluations of the levees along the Columbia River this spring to better understand how protective barriers would perform during a flood event. The company will drill along Northeast Marine Drive beginning Monday, March 6. Marine Drive will be down to one lane at times during the work. Drivers should expect delays from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays-Fridays for about three weeks.

Access to all business and residences will remain open. Flaggers will be directing traffic. Travelers are asked to consider alternate routes. Although work will be visible from the Marine Drive multiuse path (bike path), no trail closures are expected during this work. Check here for updates: www.leveereadycolumbia.org/drilling
