The PACA region is optimistic about the 2022 summer season. It seems to be more promising than the 2019 season, when tourism was not affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Francois de Canson (President of the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur Regional Tourism Committee) (CRT) shares encouraging numbers: “This summer’s book rates are at 71% for July and 68% august. They were 55% at the end of the 2019 month. The president stated that last-minute rentals could even push rates to their maximum. With a 15% increase of bookings over 2019, the fall is just as promising.

According to the CRT, more than half of vacationers will choose the coast this summer.

Francois de Canson explained that Francois decided to be more responsible and respectful of the region and its inhabitants by expanding the summer season to reduce peak attendance. He also encouraged holidaymakers to choose wine tourism, hiking, or cycling tourism.
