The British version of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” could come up with a few very special candidate coups this year. After speculation that singer Boy George would take part in the show, Mike Tindall is now also being talked about as a true royal.
It would be a sensation and a royal scandal at the same time: Mike Tindall should move into the British jungle camp. At least that’s what the newspaper The Sun claims. Tindall would not only be the first royal to appear in the British version of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, but also the first-ever royalty to appear on prime-time reality TV.
The former rugby player and husband of Queen’s granddaughter Zara Tindall, daughter of Princess Anne, is said to be flying to the Australian jungle next month. The “Sun” quotes an unspecified source: “It’s a big coup.” Tindall has had “a front row seat at some of the most important moments in royal history” for many years. He will be “certainly discreet” on the show, but his “mere presence” means “the show is a must-see.”
The participation of the 43-year-old has not yet been officially confirmed. A voice artist for “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” stated: “We will announce our cast shortly before the broadcast.”
Mike and Zara Tindall have been married since July 2011. The couple have three children, Mia (8), Lena (4) and Lucas (1).
Cult singer Boy George is also said to be moving to the Australian bush. According to the “Daily Mail”, the frontman of the band Culture Club is paying dearly for his alleged appearance on the TV show. There’s even talk of the “biggest deal ever” in the show’s 20-year history. According to the report, the 61-year-old will receive £879,000, just over a million euros, for taking part.
