With the death of his father, Cristina Rodríguez, her mother and her five brothers met a luxury brutalist house and 1,000 square meters in Pozuelo de Alarcón that could hardly assume the expenses.
Until on the horizon there was a new way of keeping it, at least for the time being: rent it for television shooting, photo sessions and television ads.

This is just an example of a business that has been flourishing in recent years and that as a result of the pandemic has hatched to take economic revenue from second residences, inherited property or even the usual homes.
Because the settlement of Streaming platforms and the scarce flow of tourists that has slowed the business of the tourist floors has triggered the rentals for filming and series.

Four localization agencies contacted by the world indicate that each week they offer three or four new properties to rent.
But the case that best shows this increasing impulse is spathios, a reserve platform of spaces for the audiovisual world, basically an identical system to Airbnb.
“Our work is to contact the owners and producers without intermediaries to make it faster the process,” explains Pol HEVIA, one of the two founders of the business.

In just one year, your business has gone from two employees with spaces to rent in Madrid and Barcelona to 13 workers, 400 locations and an expansion to Seville, Palma, Bilbao and Valencia about to be executed.
“We usually demand many large houses to be able to move their teams, but the floors are also rented without problem,” says Hevia.

Diana Ruiz owns an apartment of 95 square meters in the center of Madrid, which has begun to rent for 100 euros at the time with a minimum of three hours per day.
“It’s a good way to have a supplement to pay for expenses because we usually have a photo session per week,” she explains.
That, at least, suppose 1,200 euros a month in her account that previously came from having him as a tourist apartment.

This is a formula that is repeated, as indicated in the agencies, because the fall of tourism has caused a drop in income for those who exploited this formula.
“If there are no tourists, not rent and our work system is quite similar to that of Airbnb,” says Pol HEVIA.
A point that confirms two owners who still do not want to make more statements.

And that that the rental prices for filming “have fallen considerably” in recent years, affirms Nano Montero, production director of Taoplus locations.
“The demand has been shot but for years the price paid by producers and advertising agencies has fallen between 100 and 150%,” he adds.
The margin that this fixed expert per day is between 1,500 and 6,000 euros in Madrid or Barcelona depending on the location and size of the property.

The size is one of the key points especially for the series filming where the size of the floors has influenced once the sets are no longer the general trend to record.
Producers and platforms require at least 90 or 100 square meters and spacious stays so that teams and people can move through space.

There a diaphanous space as a carvajal house, that of Cristina Rodríguez, is perfect.
That’s why he recorded there C. Tangana The video clip of eating entire and the Tiny Desk next to Antonio Carmona, El Child de Elche, Kiko Veneno, Hungarian, Alizz, a cohort of companions and an orchestra.
“It’s a way to buy time, keep expenses in case you find the time to sell it,” recognizes the owner.

In addition, the trend, for the time being, seems increasing with Spain, positioning itself for the reception of shooting, as the agreement sample that the Government signed with Netflix to this effect in July;
The owners finding an economically satisfactory business model with increasing demand, and the agencies increasing their portfolio each week.
