Today, Monday April 24, the Catholic Church honors San Fidel.
He was a founder, lawyer, Christian philosopher, friar and the first martyr among the Capuchins.
According to the Vatican website, Saint Fidel of Sigmaringen left Germany to evangelize Calvinist Switzerland before he died in 1622.
Benedict XIV canonized him.
