Dahlen (dpa / sn) – A wheat field of at least 20 hectares in Dahlen (Northern Saxony district) burned down completely. The fire broke out on Monday afternoon on the other side of the divided field, as a spokesman for the Dahlen fire department said. There, barley was harvested with a combine harvester. The fire then spread to the wheat field. At the edge of the field, a dung heap burned near a silo. Nests of embers flared up again and again. The extinguishing work continued into the night. According to the police, the resulting property damage is in the mid five-digit range.
