Leipzig (dpa / sn) – A good five months after the violent death of a 43-year-old in Leipzig, a man has to answer in court from Friday (9:00 a.m.). The public prosecutor accuses the 40-year-old of murder. Accordingly, the accused is said to have killed his acquaintance insidiously and for base reasons because the woman did not want to enter into a closer relationship with him.

The two Germans met in the woman’s apartment the day after Christmas to talk. The man is said to have suddenly knocked his victim to the ground and then strangled him. According to prosecutors, the 40-year-old wanted to punish the woman for rejecting him. The defendant has not yet commented on the allegations. The regional court has set further hearing dates until mid-July.
