Leipzig (dpa/sn) – The chambers of industry and commerce report an increase in the number of newly concluded training contracts in Saxony over the past year. As a spokesman announced on Thursday, a total of 11,647 young people started a commercial or industrial-technical career in the chamber districts of Dresden, Chemnitz and Leipzig last year – 700 more than in the previous year. This corresponds to an increase of 6.9 percent. “This means that the pre-corona level has been reached again in vocational training and in some cases further increased,” it said.

According to the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the professions of retail clerk (1st place) and salesperson (2nd place) were chosen most frequently. The training courses for mechatronics technician (3rd place) and office management clerk (4th place) were also very popular. The professions cook and hotel manager followed in fifth and sixth place in the ranking.
