Leipzig (dpa/sn) – After car tires were repeatedly deflated in Leipzig, the “Soko Linx” in the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) took over the investigation. A political background cannot be ruled out, said LKA spokesman Tom Bernhardt on Wednesday.

The unknown perpetrator or perpetrators were last active at the end of June. Such acts had already taken place in February and March as well as last year. In the meantime, more than 100 cars have been affected, mostly high-priced SUVs. The public prosecutor classified the deflation as property damage. The police are looking for witnesses who made suspicious observations in the Waldstrasse district of Leipzig during the night of June 27th.
