Halle (dpa/sa) – The Saxony-Anhalt Art Foundation is starting the coming year with exhibitions on fashion and glass design. From January 28, 2023, works by the fashion designers Susanne Ostwald and Magdalena Sophie Orland will be presented in the foundation rooms in Halle, as the foundation announced on Friday. It was said that these were created during a scholarship. According to the information, the designers work with a specially developed contemporary lace, which they also make by hand from unconventional materials such as vinyl, silk or liquid acrylic.

From February 25, the foundation will be showing works from the “World Heritage Meets Intangible Cultural Heritage” competition together with the Harzkristall Derenburg glass manufacturer. Objects such as cans, vases and bowls were created under the guidance of a glassmaker, which are equally suitable for everyday use and atmospheric. The exhibition will also be used to present the transnational project “glass – hand formed matter” (German: Glass – hand formed matter), in which glassmakers, artists, designers, students from Berlin, Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia as well as from Finland and Sweden. Her goal is to reinterpret and further develop the old craft.
