Halle (dpa/sa) – The state administration office paid out 28.5 million euros for construction measures at schools this year. A total of 116.4 million euros are available from a school infrastructure program launched at the end of 2018, so far 53 of 210 construction measures that have been applied for and approved have been completed, the authority announced on Wednesday in Halle. “In view of the more difficult framework conditions for construction processes and the sharp rise in prices for building materials and services as a result of the Corona crisis and the Ukraine war, the implementation status is gratifying,” said Thomas Pleye, President of the State Administration Office.
According to the number of students, the funds are distributed to 113 municipalities in the country. The investments are funded at 90 percent, 10 percent must be contributed by the school board. Free schools can also benefit from the program.
