Quedlinburg (dpa/sa) – Unknown persons stole several golden chalices and monstrances worth around 11,000 euros during a break-in into the rectory in Neuendorf (Harz district). Cash was also stolen from a safe, a police spokesman said on Monday. According to the information, the burglary happened at the end of October, but it was only on Friday that the parish office was able to report with certainty which objects were stolen from the parish office’s warehouse.
