Altmärkische Wische (dpa/sa) – A cyclist was hit by a wheel loader in the Stendal district and fatally injured. The 76-year-old was traveling on Landesstraße 2 in the direction of Seehausen on Sunday, the police said on Monday. According to initial findings, the 62-year-old driver of the wheel loader, a construction machine similar to an excavator, overlooked the cyclist driving in front of him. That’s how the collision happened. The cyclist died at the scene of the accident. The state road was closed for several hours.
