Niedere Börde/Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – On the road near Gutenswegen (Börde), which belongs to the municipality of Niedere Börde, a 68-year-old driver left the roadway. He suffered a life-threatening head injury in the accident, according to the police in Magdeburg. He had to be resuscitated by the rescue workers and was then flown to a clinic by helicopter. The man was heading towards Ackendorf on Friday morning when, for reasons that have not yet been clarified, he left the roadway in a long right-hand bend and came to rest on his side in an adjacent field. He was trapped in his vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters.
