Braunsbedra (dpa/sa) – In the Saale district, a drunk driver fled from a police checkpoint and had an accident. The 36-year-old drove away from the officials at high speed in the Großkayna district of Braunsbedra on Sunday night, according to the police in Halle. Not far away, the driver lost control of his car and collided with a guardrail and several traffic signs. Eventually, he hit a traffic light, where his ride ended. Paramedics took the 36-year-old to hospital with minor injuries. According to the police, a breath alcohol test showed more than 1.2 per thousand. The man’s driver’s license was confiscated and several investigations were initiated.
