Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – Innovative research projects at universities in Saxony-Anhalt will be supported with around 20 million euros this year. “The wide range and high quality of the projects shows how innovative and efficient our universities are,” said Science Minister Armin Willingmann (SPD) on Friday. The money is to benefit 85 projects via state research funding. According to this, the priorities include projects in medicine and medical technology. The ministry is providing around 400,000 euros for corona research at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. The Unimedizin Magdeburg is also being supported with around 1.5 million euros for research into age-related diseases of the brain.
