Halle/Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – The first babies of 2023 were born in Saxony-Anhalt shortly after midnight. At 12:22 a.m. in Halle Helena saw the light of day, as the St. Elisabeth and St. Barbara hospital announced on Sunday. According to the information, the girl weighs 3240 grams and is 50 centimeters tall.
This year, a special project is starting in Halle with the “birth forest”. A tree is to be planted for every child born at the St. Elisabeth and St. Barbara Hospital. According to the hospital, around 2,000 plantings are planned each year on a reforestation area provided by the city of Halle. This should make a contribution to nature and climate protection. The project is financed by the hospital and sponsors.
A good hour later, Ludwig was born in Magdeburg: According to the University Hospital, the baby weighs 3930 grams and is 56 centimeters tall.
