Magdeburg (dpa/sa) – From the coming winter semester, the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg wants to offer a double degree program together with the National Technical University in Kharkiv in the Ukraine. The idea of ??the program is to make it easier for Ukrainian high school graduates who have fled to Germany to enter the German university system, said a spokeswoman for Magdeburg University on Friday. But it is also open to people who are in Ukraine. The so-called “German Degrees 2 Program” is an addition to the existing German Degrees program, the spokeswoman explained.
In order to be able to study at a German university, Ukrainian high school graduates would normally have to enroll at a German preparatory college with limited places, the spokeswoman said. The new program offers an alternative: the Ukrainian high school graduates should first complete a year of online distance learning at the university in Kharkiv and attend German courses. After that, and once you have reached language level B1, you can switch to the University of Magdeburg in the winter semester 2023/24.
