Halle (dpa/sa) – Saxony-Anhalt’s Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff (CDU) expressed his delight at the jury’s vote for Halle as the location of the planned future center for German unity and European transformation. “Halle is an ideal location for this center. The city’s scientific and cultural environment meets the highest standards,” Haseloff explained in a tweet on Tuesday evening. Halle in the south of Saxony-Anhalt prevailed against four applications from other cities in the east: Frankfurt (Oder), Eisenach, Jena and the duo of Leipzig and Plauen. The Federal Cabinet must make the final decision.
